Instructions for participants
Below are some photos of the surroundings of the Callot tram station, for your initial orientation when arriving on site. Around the Vélodrome square, there are a few facilities (restaurants, banks with ATM, supermarkets). The city center is 15-20 minutes by tram. The tram tickets are sold at each tram station but not on board. One ride is valid for one hour and costs 1.40 €. A ten-ride ticket costs 11.00 €. Transportation is free of charge on Saturday, Sunday and national holidays: if you arrive in Nancy during the week-end, you do not need to buy a ticket.
WiFi network connection
The residence is equipped with eduroam wifi network connection. If you have an eduroam ID, you can connect immediatly on your arrival (connection to eduroam is also available everywhere in the campus). Otherwise, you need a guest account ID that will be provided to you at the front desk of the residence Monplaisir on Monday, June 12, from 1 p.m. Be aware that no connection will be possible before getting the guest ID. In your envelope you will also find that details for connection to the school network: this is available at the venue, not in the residence.
Exercises on the Bilbao Crystallographic Server
In the second half of the school some exercises on the Bilbao Crystallographic Server will be proposed. Participants should bring their own device (laptop computer, tablet etc.) with Wifi connection. An internet browser is required to access the server, but no software installation is necessary.
Access to the venue
For security reasons, all the doors of the faculty are locked. Access is possible only with a badge. We will leave one door accessible in the morning and at lunch time. Be sure to follow the indications that will be put along the path to reach that door. The GPS coordinates of the venue (La=48.665285, Lo=6.159006) roughly correspond to that door.
